Syrah grows exceptionally well in the unique microclimate of the Alisos Canyon AVA, which has earned the nickname “The Goldilocks Rhone Zone”. Located only 25 miles from the cooling influence of the Pacific, this small region has a strong reputation for producing exceptional Rhone varietals due to the unique combination of large diurnal temperature variation, long growing season, and soil characteristics. Thompson Vineyard, the oldest vineyard within the Alisos Canyon AVA, is known for producing sustainably farmed, ultra-premium, cool-climate Syrah on native rootstock. The resulting wine is an exceptional expression of Syrah with luscious flavors of dark red fruit and moderate tannins and is a representation of our connection with the land and sea.
